Let me introduce myself, I am the new Chef de Cuisine of Restaurant Whale Tails.

I started working in hospitality at age 14 as dishwasher in a cafeteria in The Netherlands, while I was doing my first culinary school.

At age 16 I went to the School of Culinary Arts in The Hague and I did an internship at Perscentrum Nieuwspoort in the restaurant for people of the Dutch government.

After my Culinary School I started working in different Restaurants to gain a lot experience in different kitchens. Among them was the famous, high class seafood Restaurant Las Palmas of Herman Den Blijker in Rotterdam.

In 2011 I moved to the Caribbean. After a few years on Sint Maarten I worked on a private yacht as the Sole Chef and travelled to a lot of islands around the Caribbean trying to learn something of the culinary traditions wherever I came.

When I came back to Sint Maarten I’ve worked in a fine dining Italian Restaurant where I picked up my passion for this great kitchen. After this experience I started my career at Holland House Beach Hotel, starting as Chef de Partie and working my way up to Executive-Chef. In this role I had the great privilege in 2017 to cook a private lunch for the King and Queen of The Kingdom of The Netherlands.
After This Great experience I mostly worked a private Chef for Villa’s and Private jets.

Now me and my fiancé are moving to Statia with our new born daughter to live our passion at Whale Tails.
